Southern Guild invites applications for the role of Gallery Sales Manager to join our close-knit team at our gallery in the Silo District, V&A Waterfront. This is a full-time position, working in association with the Gallery Director and Founders.

We are seeking a dynamic salesperson who is passionate about art and design, and knowledgeable about the local design industry. Preference will be given to those with previous experience in exemplary customer service, lead generation and reporting processes.

The successful candidate will be engaging, presentable, mature and have a strong, professional work ethic. A keen interest in, and knowledge of, art and design is a must. Excellent communication and people skills are essential, as is a desire and commitment to develop the position further.

Duties will include
  • Receiving visitors to the gallery and fielding enquiries
  • Sales and customer liaison
  • Assisting the gallery director
  • Inventory control and administration
  • Providing administrative research and logistical support
  • Storeroom management
  • Sales reports and records
Personal Attributes
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with good verbal and written communication skills
  • An informed interest in contemporary art and design culture
  • Presentable, mature, attention to detail
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Fluent English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Sales experience
Reports to the Gallery Director
Salary dependant on experience
